Daredevil: The man - wearing just his boxer shorts - was in a residential back garden with two of his friends when he decided to dive bomb through the ice which had set on a swimming pool

Most young men would be lying if they admitted to never showing off in front of their friends.
But when one would-be daredevil, believed to be from Germany, attempted to impress his mates by diving into an ice-covered outdoor pool, it went spectacularly wrong.
The man - wearing just his boxer shorts - was in a residential back garden with two of his friends when he decided to dive bomb through the ice.

A video uploaded onto YouTube by one of his friends begins by showing the man, looking slightly chilly, assess the ice nervously.
But, seconds before his jump, his nerves seem to leave him as her plays up in front of the camera by performing a number of confident gestures while on his knees.

However, it didn't go quite to plan.
The man clearly misjudged the thickness of the ice and instead of breaking through it, he instead bounces straight off and lands rather painfully.

The situation is far too much for one of his friends to handle, as he drops to the floor laughing.
