With the yachts bobbing gently on the tranquil water underneath a clean night sky, one could easily be forgiven for assuming these stunning scenes were straight out of the south of France. But in fact we're miles from the Riviera and the setting could barely be any more English. This is the majestic Lake District in Cumbria, but bathed in the glorious early evening light the region takes on a distinctly Mediterranean feel.
