You travel all around the globe looking for the world’s most beautiful cave. . . and the best one is in Sheffield

By ANTHONY BOND
He has dedicated his life to exploring and photographing some of the world's most remote caves. His incredible journey has taken him to countries such as Indonesia, China and Portugal. But as these pictures show, despite travelling the globe, it seems that adventure photographer Robbie Shone, 32, found the best cave in Sheffield.
Incredible: Robbie Shone, 32, has travelled the globe for the world's best cave but seems to have found the best one in Sheffield. This is the the Giant storm drain called Megatron beneath Sheffield City Centre
Stunning: In order to stay dry in such a cold cave, explorers improvise and use a small inflatable dingy to cross Lake Cadoux in this famous french cave The Gouffre Berger
Daredevil: Suspended 300m below the roof and over 200m off the floor, one of the team ascends the rope deep underground in Miao Keng, China
Talented: Mr Shone used his rope and abseiling skills - gained from his previous job inspecting tall buildings and bridges for structural damage - to access the caves to photograph and record details about them for the first time. This is a cave chamber in China The giant storm drain called Megatron looks stunning when lit up and is all the more incredible because it is located directly beneath Sheffield City Centre. Mr Shone used his rope and abseiling skills - gained from his previous job inspecting tall buildings and bridges for structural damage - to access the caves to photograph and record details about them for the first time. The explorer is so committed, he even spent 13 days in a row underground - camping, sleeping and eating in a remote cave in Vietnam.
Huge: Cave explorers add scale to this massive cave passage called Deer Cave, one of the largest cave passages in the world, located in Mulu National Park, Sarawak, Borneo Mr Shone said: 'Exploring somewhere no one else has been before, is a very, very special feeling. It pushes me on to keep finding unexplored caves. 'The more difficult caves are the vertical ones when you're suspended on a rope for a long time. Sometimes you don't even know when you're going to reach the bottom. 'You can run out of rope before you reach the cave floor, in which case you have to go back up and get a longer rope.
Beautiful: Some of the cave explorers progress downstream in Clearwater River Cave - the eighth longest cave in the world in Gunung Mulu National Park, Sarawak, Borneo
Dangerous: A cave explorer stands in the main chamber of Gaping Gill in the Yorkshire Dales as it is hit by a raging flood pulse. Minutes later, the floor of this room was completely covered with water
Brave: A cave explorer climbs up the entrance out of Cow Pot, a classic cave in the Yorkshire Dales 'The longest time I spent underground was 13 days in a cave in Vietnam. It was so remote in the middle of a forest that it didn't make sense to leave and come back. So we camped and slept in the cave. 'We slept under some skylights in the cave to try and keep our body clocks in check. 'Caves are truly fascinating places. Of course I am drawn in by the photographic challenge. 'The challenge of lighting a place up that is so dark and so black that you cannot see your hand when it is up against your face, even when it is touching your nose. 'Every bit of light required has to be carried in by hand and this can mean dragging bags and bags for days and days to the ends of the earth just for one shot. 'But when the flashbulbs crackle into life and the flashes all go off together casting a picture before your eyes of the space you are in and the image is displayed on the back of the camera. 'For only a few seconds, I smile and see the beauty of our planet.'
Dark: A cave explorer climbs out of this wet cave
Mysterious: Thin whisps of clouds slowly rise out from this cave in the French Vercors known as The Gouffre Berger
Different world: The photographs are a collection of six years work by Mr Shone from some of the most beautiful and remote caves ever discovered. This is a cave chamber in China
Amazing: Cave explorers add scale to this massive cave passage called Deer Cave in Borneo Since a school geography trip to Peak Cavern in Castleton, Derbyshire as a 14-year-old he has been hooked on caves and has now revealed this truly incredible collection of photographs taken over a six year period. 'This a collection of six years work from some of the most beautiful and remote caves ever discovered. 'Some of these photographs will be the only record of these places that we ever see as no one will ever go back to some of these caves. 'Most of these pictures have been shot from a tripod on the floor which makes it all very safe, comfortable and easy to set-up. 'There are a couple which were shot hanging on a thin rope several hundred meters off the floor.
Hazardous: A British cave explorer climbs a rope out of the giant river cave called The Whiterock River, deep underground in Clearwater Cave
On the edge: Hanging on a thin rope, Portuguese cave biologist Sofia Reboleira makes her way up to the daylight and the entrance to one of Portugal's largest caves: Algar da Lagoa, Sico-Alvaiazere Massif
Action man: Robbie Shone is pictured at work in one of the many caves he has visited
Massive: The Sarawak Chamber is the largest cave chamber in the world 'All of these expeditions to these places were self-funded expeditions where I was selected to participate as the 'expedition photographer'. 'The most challenging expedition was in 2006 to Papua New Guinea. We stayed for three months exploring caves. 'They could be quite dangerous as they had a large amount of white water flowing through them. So care had to be taken when crossing the river because if you slipped in it would be quite dangerous.
Underground: This is a stunning cave chamber in a French cave
Luxurious: This plunge pool is a place halfway along a streamway leading to Sarawak Chamber in Borneo source: dailymail

Kim Kardashian is not the only one laughing... as she slips into frightful leather and lace outfit ahead of Halloween party

By CHRIS JOHNSON
Making a meal of it: Kim Kardashian stepped out with boyfriend Kanye West in Miami on Wednesday for a double date dinner with sister Kourtney and Scott Disick and wore a frightful leather and lace outfit It is Halloween, so perhaps Kim Kardashian could be forgiven for this fashion faux pas. Although some more discriminating critics will surely be letting out a wicked cackle when they set eyes on the reality star's Gothic leather and lace combo, which she wore out to lunch on Wednesday. Just hours after meeting boyfriend Kanye West at the airport in Miami, fresh from his flight from New York, the excitement apparently proved to much for Kim.
Mixed bunch: Kourtney looked somewhat more appropriately dressed for their lunch outing, wearing a floaty black and white dress. Scott suited up while Kanye donned jeans and a white shirt The 32-year-old E! star changed out of her green outfit from earlier in the day before misguidedly squeezing her curves into leather trousers and a heavily-embroidered black lace top which exposed her bra underneath. Even Kim couldn't resist a giggle as she headed to Miami's Makoto Restuarant with Kanye on a double date with her sister Kourtney and Scott Disick. No doubt Kim's frightful appearance would have given fellow diners something to chew on.
Tight fit: Kim squeezed herself into form-fitting leather trousers and a heavily embroidered black lace top, which exposed her bra underneath Her sister Kourntey went for a more suitable dining-out look, wearing a floaty black and white dress. Meanwhile, Kanye kept it casual in jeans and a white shirt - thankfully resisting a co-ordinated look - while Scott suited up in a dapper off-white number teamed with a baby pink shirt. All in all they made for quite a mixed bunch on their outing, which comes just hours before Kim throws her festive-themed Halloween bash at Miami's LIV nightclub tonight.

It's fright night! Jonathan Ross wows Halloween party guests with larger than life ghouls after transforming his home into a haunted castle

By DAILY MAIL REPORTER
Count Dracula: Jonathan Ross really upped the ante this year with his Halloween party. The chat show host transformed his home and hired performers to really give a spooky feel to the bash Every year he throws the mother of all Halloween parties for his showbiz pals and this year is certainly no different. Chat show host Jonathan Ross went all out with impressive decorations and scary performers for his showbiz bash. The 51-year-old transformed his Hampstead house into a haunted castle, complete with dungeon.
Larger than life: The 51-year-old had employed entertainers who were seen walking around outside the bash on stilts dressed in Halloween costumes. One performer was seen being helped out a van If the impressive surroundings weren't enough, guests were welcomed into the bash by performers on stilts dressed in scary costumes. One entertainer was seen being helped out of the back of a van, by a staff worker ahead of the bash. While Jonathan had certainly gone all out on the decoration for the party, he didn't pay the same attention to his own costume.
Trick or treat! Children seemed happy after being given candyfloss as the stopped by the bash It appeared that the TV personality was dressed up as Count Dracula in a tuxedo, a cap with red lining and long, yellow, fake nails. He was also sporting a top hat on his head which gave him an appearance of a ring master. Children who visited the property trick or treated were rewarded with candy floss, which left them looking very happy indeed.
Getting into the spirit of things: One guest dressed as Iron Man while a young party-goer went as a skeleton The preparations for the party began earlier in the day with a whole team of workers helping to transform Ross's house. And his next door neighour seemed to be embracing something similar and could well be part of the night's festivities. The front of the house was covered in large cobwebs with a huge, black spider sitting over the front door, while the windows were covered from the inside with scary orange hangings. Alluding to Jonathan's love of comic books, a number of life size action figures including Superman and Batman could be seen dotted in the grounds of the two properties.

Holly unzipped: Miss Willoughby looks frightening in her Halloween costume as she leads celebs in scary attire at Jonathan Ross's annual bash

By FAY STRANG
Scary: Holly Willoughby looked vastly different with her face made up to look like it had been unzipped She's always immaculately dressed whether she's presenting This Morning or appearing on Celebrity Juice. But it seems Holly Willoughby just couldn't wait to let loose a little and have fun with her outfit. The famous face of TV altered her face quite dramatically as she attended Jonathan Ross's annual Halloween party on Wednesday evening.
Made up: Holly's impressive make-up made it look like her nose was falling off as she attended Jonathan Ross's party Holly went all out with incredible face make-up which made it appear like her face had been unzipped revealing a red raw face and half destroyed nose underneath . As if that wasn't scary enough she also wore red contact lenses and a black wig making her almost unrecognisable. She dressed for the chilly evening in a fur trimmed coat and gave a scary pose for the cameras.
Spooky pair: Holly was accompanied by a man, presumably her husband, who was dressed like Jack Sparrow Coming a close second behind Holly in terms of costume effort, was the Lineker family - Gary, his wife Danielle and Gary's son George. Danielle opted for a typically sexy costume wearing a cream corset, short skirt and fishnets. Her neck was covered in blood, making it appear like she had been bitten by a vampire.
Terrifying: Holly shared a picture of herself on the way to the party staring scarily at the camera source: dailymail

'He doesn’t need to be handsome': Bond girl Bérénice Marlohe talks about her ideal man as she strips down for FHM shoot

By DAILY MAIL REPORTER
Smouldering: Bérénice Marlohe strips down for a racy photoshoot int his month's FHM She's the Bond girl that everyone's talking about and Skyfall star Bérénice Marlohe has proved just what the producers saw in her. Posing for a series of sultry photos for the new FHM magazine, the French actress looked the epitome of a Bond girl as she slipped into some lacy underwear. She might be one of the most beautiful women on the planet, but Bérénice told the magazine that her ideal man didn't have to be handsome to catch her eye:
Bond girl: The French actress has turned heads as Skyfall hit the big screen last week 'He doesn’t need to be handsome. If he has nothing to say or he is not funny or doesn’t have something happening in his eye, then he is not attractive. Charisma and sense of humour is what gives him that ‘wow’, you know?,' she said. She might be remaining tight-lipped about her personal life but it seems as if you don't have to be drop dead gorgeous to be in with a chance. The 33-year-old actress has started to turn heads since she hit the big screen in the latest Bond film, which opened in the UK last week, and is on the look out for some juicy roles.
The full interview with Bérénice is in this month's FHM magazine which is out on Thursday The star was at the German premiere last night and has wowed on red carpets all over Europe since the world premiere in London last week. She might look like the ideal of feminine beauty, but Bérénice has admitted that she'd rather play a man's role than a woman's. 'I would love to be the Joker in the next Batman. I’ve done a reel where I’ve played the Joker. The kind of roles I really enjoy most of all are given to men usually. Like Gary Oldman in The Firm. He was so great in that, and that’s the kind of character I like – a bit crazy and intense on screen,' she said.
Red carpet ready: The Bond girl joined Daniel Craig at the German Skyfall premiere on Tuesday 'I have always dreamed of being the bad guys in the movie. You know, the mafia chief. That would be my dream.' The actress admitted that playing Séverine in Skyfall was a dream role for her as she got to mix sexy femininity with a dark character. 'She is mysterious: good, evil, adventurous. I had to give her a lot of substance and charisma, and the sexiness came from that,' she said. source: dailymail

Chelsea 5 Manchester United 4: Capital punishment for Reds reserves as Blues fight back three times for sweet revenge

By LAURA WILLIAMSON
There's no beating the Blues: Ramires (left) and Chelsea team-mates react after his extra-time goal After all the controversy of Sunday, Chelsea and Manchester United reconvened at Stamford Bridge and produced a humdinger of a Capital One Cup tie: a treat to savour rather than a trick on a rainy Hallowe'en night. It had its moments of controversy, of course; plenty of them. We even had some of the terrace banter that is so often missing from clashes between the top clubs. But more than anything it was an enjoyable, exciting cup tie.
Stirring the pot: Manchester United fans display a banner about Clattenburg, mocking the well-known slogan Chelsea fans attach to captain John Terry, who racially abused QPR defender Anton Ferdinand
Message: Manchester United fans take aim at Chelsea over the race rows that have engulfed the club
No hiding: John Obi Mikel (centre) started for Chelsea amid the race row involving referee Mark Clattenburg Anderson and substitute Nick Powell were plusses for United, who also saw 38-year-old Giggs play the full 120 minutes, while Victor Moses was influential for Chelsea before Ramires and Oscar began to run the show when they were introduced in the second half. That it was Sturridge who gave Chelsea the lead for the first time in this match, however, was something of a surprise given his overall performance. With Fernando Torres suspended following his red card on Sunday, this was Sturridge’s first start for Chelsea this season — and the perfect opportunity to show his ability in the central striking role he craves.
Here's how it all started: Oriel Romeu (centre) is dispossessed by Anderson, leading to the opening goal
Easy as that: Romeu (second right) can't get back as Ryan Giggs is left free to score past a defenceless Petr Cech
Noses in front: United celebrate after Giggs (centre, partly obscured) gave them the lead at Stamford Bridge
Going down: United left-back Alexander Buttner fouls Victor Moses to concede a penalty
No mistake: David Luiz stepped up to haul Chelsea level from the penalty spot with a low, powerful shot
On target: Blues defender Luiz celebrates after equalising from the penalty spot Yet the 23-year-old was initially comfortably marshalled by United’s young central defensive pairing of Scott Wootton and Michael Keane. It was Moses who looked far more accomplished, outmuscling Alexander Buttner after half an hour to win his side a penalty, which David Luiz converted. Chelsea had gone behind in bizarre circumstances in the 22nd minute. After a free-kick from Buttner went wide, Petr Cech played a short pass to Oriol Romeu, who was dispossessed by Anderson. Giggs was the lucky recipient and the Welshman scored by the time Luiz had ambled back on to the pitch.
Chelsea's nemesis: Javier Hernandez celebrates scoring at Stamford Bridge for the second time in four days
Deadly: The Mexican striker showed his predatory instincts with a fine finish late in the first half
Rising high: Gary Cahill (third left) leaps unmarked to head in Chelsea's second goal of the night
Eye for goal: Chelsea centre-back Cahill celebrates his goal in the second half at the Bridge The Brazil defender played more of a role in United’s second goal, taking the ball up field before watching it cannon back into Chelsea’s half. With the centre half stranded, Hernandez exploited the huge gap to score his fourth goal in three games in the 43rd minute. This one, however, was definitely not offside. United’s young defence seemed to be in control, but Chelsea were level seven minutes after the restart as Gary Cahill powered home a header from a Mata corner. After looking as if he would rather be anywhere but Stamford Bridge, Nani suddenly burst into life to score United’s third. A smart one-two with Anderson saw the winger burst into space and finish with his right foot. Cech was left to collect the bottle that was hurled on to the pitch.
Making his point: Nani (right) celebrates with Anderson after scoring Manchester United's third goal
Top class: Nani chips the ball into the net over Petr Cech's despairing dive to put United 3-2 in front
Back from the dead: Chelsea midfielder Eden Hazard celebrates scoring in the dying seconds of normal time
Held his nerve: Hazard (17) scores from the penalty spot deep into injury time to force another 30 minutes Di Matteo pushed for an equaliser. Cesar Azpilicueta was closed down in a promising position at the far post and then Chelsea appealed for a penalty when Mata’s shot hit Keane’s hand. Fourth official Mike Dean got a mouthful from Di Matteo but Lee Mason was unmoved. The referee, however, was apparently only prolonging the drama. In the fourth minute of stoppage time he pointed to the spot after Wootton bundled over Ramires. Hazard converted with the coolest of right-foot strikes down the middle and, finally, Chelsea were in the ascendency. Sturridge wasted another glorious chance but, eventually, he converted an opportunity, taking the ball round Anders Lindegaard in the 97th minute after a misjudged header back from Wootton.
Dan's the man: Daniel Sturridge (right) celebrates after handing Chelsea the lead in extra-time
Can't miss: Sturridge scores after going round Manchester United keeper Anders Lindegaard Keane was then perhaps fortunate to receive only a yellow card for pulling back the Chelsea striker before Ramires danced through United’s defence to put the match beyond doubt. Even then, Giggs converted a penalty after Azpilicueta was judged to have fouled Hernandez. Chelsea’s prize is a trip to Elland Road to face Leeds, and former owner Ken Bates, in the quarter-finals. Leeds manager Neil Warnock said he was ‘disgusted’ by Chelsea accusing Clattenburg of making ‘inappropriate comments’ this week. You get the impression that might be an exciting Cup tie, too.
Nail in the coffin: Ramires (centre right) rounds off a superb move to seal the deal for Chelsea
And that's the end of that: Giggs slots home from the penalty spot in the final seconds of extra time source: dailymail
