35-year-old Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon may not be doing any important projects in the film industry, but she’s indeed keeping herself busy with a good cause - to campaign against the cruelty to snakes.
The National Award winning actress has posed for an advertisement for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). In the ad, Raveena is seen lying face down in a pool of blood. She wears a snug dress with snake scales designed on it.
‘Wearing Exotic Skins Kills. Leave Wildlife Out of Your Wardrobe’ is the message of the ad.
“Wearing shoes, clothes and other accessories made out of exotic skin is about as cold-blooded as it gets,” Raveena said in a statement released on Monday.
Raveena also revealed the cruelty with which snakes and alligators are killed for their skin.
“Snakes are commonly nailed to trees or posts and skinned alive...Alligators on factory farms are crammed into small spaces and then beaten to death with hammers or axes,” she said urging people to boycott the products from these animals.
